People lose their voice for various reasons. It is either from shouting too much or a bacterial infection. The stated reasons may cause inflammation of your vocal chords which then results to a condition called, laryngitis. It is usually accompanied by sore throat, dry cough, and weak voice. Once you started to suffer from laryngitis, here’s how to get rid of it.

  1. Apple cider vinegar
  • It contains antimicrobial properties to help fight infections and treat laryngitis.
    • Mix a tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a half cup of water.
    • Drink it twice a day.
  1. Onion syrup
  • This is an effective natural cure for larynx (vocal cords) inflammation. The onion syrup acts as a natural expectorant.
    • Cut up 3 to 4 medium sized onions and simmer the pieces in 4 cups of water until the solution thickens like a syrup.
    • Mix 5 tablespoons of the syrup in a glass of warm water and add a tablespoon of honey.
    • Sip the mixture slowly.
  1. Ginger
  • Ginger has anti-infection properties. It will soothe the inflammation of the mucous membranes of your larynx.
    • Boil fresh ginger for about 10 minutes.
    • Strain the liquid and let it cool down.
    • Drink this ginger tea several times a day.
  1. Warm Salt Water
  • Salt and warm water mixture will speed up the healing of your vocal cords and sore throat for it contains antibacterial properties.
    • Just add half a teaspoon of salt into a cup of warm water then gargle it.
    • Do this several times a day.
  1. Lemon Juice
  • Lemon is known to reverse voice loss. It can kill bacteria and viruses, loosen mucus, and relieve various symptoms of laryngitis.
    • Squeeze some fresh lemons into a cup of lukewarm water.
    • Add a pinch of salt.
    • Gargle this solution several times a day.
